DFC continued their winning streak with a convincing 3-1 victory over Shillong Lajong in a thrilling match at home. The team’s impressive form was on display as they secured all 3 points and moved to 29 points for the season.
The match started with DFC displaying aggressive intent as they were riding high on confidence after their recent away win against Gokulam Kerala. However, Shillong Lajong put up a strong fight and matched the intensity, resulting in a goalless first half.
In the second half, things changed with none other than Sergio Barboza being introduced into the game. DFC soon took control as they were awarded a penalty after Vinyl Poojary was brought down in the box. Sergio Barboza stepped up to the spot and calmly converted the penalty at the 64th minute, giving his team the lead.
Barboza continued his impressive performance by scoring two more goals to complete a hat-trick and seal the victory for DFC.
Although Shillong Lajong managed to score a late consolation goal, it was DFC who emerged victorious with a 3-1 margin. The win marks DFC’s second consecutive victory, showcasing their determination and skill on the field.
