Dev Samaj College of Education marks World AIDS Day

To mark the world AIDS Day Celebrations 2018, NSS Units Dev Samaj College of Education Sector 36-B, Chandigarh in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club of the college,  organized  different activities and an Informative talk to spread the awareness about AIDS .

The day started with the college prayer followed by the address by the NSS Programme officer Dr. Neeru Malik. On the spot poster making and slogan writing competitions were organized in which NSS volunteers participated with great zeal & enthusiasm.

The college invited the resource person – an AIDS expert Dr. Krishna Murari from NACO (National AIDS control organisation), New Delhi , & who is also associated with  UN AIDS India. Dr Murari delivered a talk on ‘Prevention of AIDS & ethical code of conduct’. In his talk he informed the volunteers about the historical background of the disease and its current status. He said that  40 lakh of population worldwide is affected with the disease.

The resource person elaborated the causes and preventive measures for this disease and informed till today there is no medicine to fully cure AIDS. Dr Murari also told the students about the rights of the HIV affected people in regard to equality . Further he suggested the volunteers to follow the ethical code of conduct to prevent the HIV virus from spreading.

Dr Kiranjit , Mrs Madhvi Goyal were present on this occasion . Dr Agnese Dhillon, Principal of the college appreciated the NSS Units and Red Ribbon Club for this function. Mrs Madhvi Goyal gave the vote of thanks.
