India’s senior citizen population of 103 million is the second largest in the world and is growing. Almost 60 % of urban seniors above 70 are chronically ill or bed ridden. These seniors are either cared for by relatives or by untrained informal providers. To mark this edition of World Elders Day, Life Circle Senior Services which is partnership between Life Circle Health Services and France based Groupe SOS forays in Chandigarh and tricity market with the help of Hauz Home Healthcare. This launch will bring a level of trust and reliability in the home health care services by addressing some of the critical challenges faced by seniors, family members & also the caregivers-home nurses.
In most of the cases, the caregiving is provided by relatives of the seniors who divert their time from economically productive venture to care for bed ridden senior. In a study done in Chandigarh, an average 3.05 percent caregivers were involved in taking care of each bed ridden senior. Taking care of bed ridden elderly is putting strain on family relationships as well.

Caregivers, Home nurses and seniors are supported by a professional team of experienced Nurse Managers, Care coordinators and a growing network of medical support services. There will be specialized caregivers-home nurses for specific needs like elderly patients with dementia, diabetes, depression, Alzheimer’s, stroke heart disease, visual/hearing impairment, Parkinson’s, as well as bed and patients who use wheelchairs. Company insures all caregivers-home nurses undergo identity and criminal court verification.
