Home science girls enjoyed a brilliant day of fun and competitiveness on March 20, 2017 when 52nd Annual Athletic Meet was held at Home Science College. The sporting event was inaugurated by Dr. Sudha Katyal, Principal of the College followed by the unfurling of the College Flag and oath taking ceremony. The gathering began with the marching of coordinated footsteps of students in the parade led by the Sports Captain, Sarmishtha. Torch was lighted by Amandeep Kaur, Jaganjot Kaur, Kanika Lubana, Suraksha Narang, Anjana, Roopa and Samiksha Jha of B.Sc. (Home Science) 2nd and 4th semester.
Mrs. Jatinder Rai, President, Home Science College Alumini Association, was the chief guest for the occasion. Dr. Katyal introduced the chief guest and florally welcomed her. Students, teaching and non- teaching staff enthusiastically participated in various throw, jump, and track activities. Sarmishtha Sharma of B.Sc. (Home Science)4th semester was declared the best athlete followed by the various competitions. The chief guest congratulated the prize winners and motivated the students to come forward and participate in sports so as to keep physical side in concord with the psychological health. The function concluded with the flag retreat ceremony and giving away of vote of thanks by Dr. Ravneet Chawla, the sports Incharge.
