Satluj footballers shine on Day 1 of Six-A-Side Football Tournament

Satluj Fourth edition of Six-A-Side Football Tournament 2018 began on Saturday at Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula.

The first match was played between Satluj Public School and Shemford Futuristic School, Pinjore. Satluj Public School won by 5-0. In Saupins Public School vs Vivek High School the match was a draw with 1-1.

Vivek International School, Baddi won the match against Saupins Public School by 1-0 while in Hansraj Public School vs Shemford Futuristic School both teams could not score any goal and match ended with 0-0. In the fourth match Vivek High School advanced to semi-finals with walkover from St. Johns High School.

Tomorrow the semi-finals will be played between four teams, which would include Satluj Public School vs  Vivek International School, Baddi and Vivek High School, Chandigarh vs Saupins School Panchkula.

The two-day tournament, which will conclude on Sunday has 13 teams which are  participating. The participating schools include Satluj Public School, Panchkula; St John High School, Chandigarh; Vivek High School, Chandigarh; St. Solider, Chandigarh; Vivek International School, Baddi; Shemford Futuristic School, Pinjore; Jainendra School, Panchkula and Hansraj Public School, Panchkula.

The prize distribution ceremony will be held on Sunday afternoon.  Principal Krit Serai while giving the information said, “All participating school students will be given Certificates and winners will be given Trophies. The aim is to encourage the game of football at school level.”
