RBU pass outs are employment ready; upswing in placements

One of the unique features of the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions is its commitment to make the students employment ready even before they pass out their academic courses which stands them in good stead in placements.

With this end in view the Group has established the Bahra Multi Super Specialty Hospital which provides practical training to students studying in different paramedical courses. They are given training in beauty and wellness, X-ray,CT scan ,ultrasound, and pathological diagnostic tests, radiology and imaging technology, dialysis technology, medical laboratory technology, operation theatre and anaesthesia technology.

During an interaction with media persons here today, Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, who is also Promoter of the Bahra Multi Super Specialty Hospital, said that the students were also imparted training in incubation centre technology.

Bahra said that experienced doctors were available in the Bahra Multi Super Specialty Hospital in super specialty departments like neuro and spine surgery, medical oncology, endocrinology, plastic surgery and burns, pediatrics and neonatology.

He said that the University School of Medical and Allied Sciences had started postgraduate and undergraduate courses in radiology and imaging technology, dialysis technology, medical laboratory technology, operation theatre and anaesthesia technology. It had also introduced courses in optometry, cardiovascular technology, emergency responder and ICU technician.

He said the University School of Media Studies had been offering courses like masters in journalism and mass communication, B Sc in Sound Engineering, B Sc in Film Making, and B Sc in Photography.

The University School of Airlines Tourism and Hotel Management offered job oriented courses like B Sc in Tourism and Cabin Management, B Sc in Airport and Cargo Management, and B Sc in Airlines and Airport Management, he added.

Bahra said the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions has signed many MoUs with leading auto giants Volvo Eicher, Volkswagen, Royal Enfield etc. These MoUs allow knowledge transfer, technology sharing, training and course development services, academic guidance, career and placement, skill and employability development, faculty and training programmes.

The Chancellor disclosed that the Skill Development Centre provides its enrolled students with certificates and recognitions so as to validate their training. Under the same policy the group provides its students with scholarships and concessions.

The University had brought a paradigm change in the way professional education is imparted in the country in collaboration with industry. “We have set up Rayat Bahra Skill Development Center (RBSDC), a center set up with industry collaboration and only of its kind in the country,” he added.

The Rayat Bahra University has introduced a large number of new age courses in collaboration with top multinational companies to increase the employment potential of the students. The University, one of the best in this part of the country, offers attractive scholarship schemes, has the highest placement record, and has ultra modern facilities available for its students.

He said that some of the important companies which had selected students included Wipro, Infosys, TCS, UPl, IBM, Smart Data, Hitachi, Quark, Cloud Thing, Global Logic, Tommy Hilfier, ITC Limited, Tech Mahindra, Board Infinity, and Drish Infotech, and Grazitti. Bluebash, and India Mart.

Bahra said that it was a tribute to the abilities of the faculty members of the Rayat Bahra University that many of the pass outs of the university had cracked civil service examinations. While some of the students had made it to IAS and IPS, there were many others who had got selected in state civil services of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal.

Bahra said that the Rayat Bahra University is synonymous with quality education. It has managed to create a brand name which stands for exceptional faculty strength and full-fledged infrastructure facilities.  

Talking about the new programmes introduced in the university, Bahra said that the Rayat Bahra University has also started a Defense Preparatory Academy (DPA) for youth who are interested in joining Indian Armed Forces.

Recalling some of the achievements of the Rayat Bahra Group of institutions, Bahra, who is also Chairman of the RBGI, said that the Rayat Bahra University and Bahra University have made it to the list of the top ranking universities of the country in a survey conducted by Outlook, a weekly news magazine.

Bahra lauded the leadership of Dr Parvinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, and said that he is a renowned academician and administrator. He has earlier served as Controller of Examinations at the Panjab University, Chandigarh.
