Rattan Group of Institutions here today organised a special programme to mark the International Women’s Day under the theme of “Be Bold for Change” which was focused on Women in the Changing World of Work.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Chief Judicial Magistrate cum District Legal Services Secretary Monica Lamba, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, along with Ms. Paramjit Kaur Landran among others. S.L. Aggarwal, Chairman, Rattan Group of Institutions, Dr SM Khera, Academic Advisor, Principal (Nursing) Amarjit Kaur, Principal Education Sumita Wig, Deepika Aggarwal, Principal Management, Sachin Gupta, Manager Administration were also present there.
CJM Monika Lamba while addressing the gathering have information on legal assistance for women. She also apprised the students of their responsibilities towards women in the society. She also lauded the students for their performance in the cultural programme which was organised to mark the occasion.
Paramjit Kaur Landran, Chairperson of Women Commission of Punjab while speaking on the occasion highlighted the dowry system and expensive weddings stressing on the need for women to know about their rights. She also stressed on measures to check female foeticide.
Some cultural activities were also organized on the occasion. The students from Chandigarh University performed a skit on “Female Foeticide” and colourful Bhangra by Rattan Group of Institutions students.
