17 May 2019

Voting in India is a Constitutional right of every citizen over 18 years of age. In the light of ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Verka the renowned dairy brand of the region, has launched a“Selfie Contest” on social media. The participants are requested to post their selfie, thereby, showcasing their inked finger after casting their votes on 19th May 2019 on Verka’s social media handles.03 shortlisted winners, will receive gift hampers from Verka. The contest is applicable only on entries received on Facebook, Twitter, and / or Instagram only.

It is a step by brand Verka to encourage voters to exercise their vote.  In a democratic set up like India, where people select their own government through this right. Therefore it is quintessential to sensitize citizens about the importance of participating in the electoral process and encourage them to participate in this process, as every single vote matters in building the future of any nation. So here is the initiative from Verka in the said direction..

It has been a tendency among voters, especially in the urban areas, to treat the voting day as a day of rest.Skipping the vote may have long-term consequences. Voting offers every citizen a medium of expression. The process of voting allows every citizen to have a say in what should constitute the matters of importance by voting for the candidate he or she deems fit for the purpose.

“VOTING IS AS MUCH A RESPONSIBILITY AS IT IS A RIGHT. The whole edifice of Indian democracy is built on the foundation of voting. If citizens are not careful about casting their vote or worse, skip their vote altogether,it will jeopardize the whole system.”. said Capt Karnail Singh, Additional Managing Director, Milkfed   Therefore “It is a humble attempt on our behalf to encourage maximum number of people to step out and vote,” He added

Verka is known for launching many such initiatives.
