Cobra rescued at Panjab University

Natural Biodiversity is a group working for the research and documentation of Biodiversity and its related issues. The group is based on crowdsourcing concept where resources from all spheres of life come together for the cause.  One of the activities of the group is to spread awareness and help in conservation of flora and fauna. In sync with its aim, the group members have saved numerous animals be it birds or reptiles.

On Wednesday Apr 22, 2020, during crucial lockdown period, a spectacled Cobra came to residential area of servant quarters at Panjab University. It was spotted timely by Mr. Rohit who raised the alarm. The reptile was later caught by family members of Mr. Jeevan who has dedicated his spare time for the love of animals having rescued countless animals before.

Mr. Navtej Singh eminent wild life photographer who resides in campus was able to click a photo during rescue. The group members took the matter online and made all residents aware of basic steps to avoid snake bites and urges people not to kill ever and inform wildlife department or in emergency to group members.
