In a move to uplift the standard of cricket in Chandigarh and work jointly towards this goal, UT Cricket Association (UTCA) officials held a meeting with members of Chandigarh Cricket Association-Punjab (CCA-Punjab) at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh on Wednesday evening. While Mr Sanjay Tondon (UTCA President), Mr Vivek Atray (UTCA Senior-Vice President), Subhash Mahajan (General Secretary), MP Singh (Vice-President), Davinder Sharma (Joint Secretary), Ravidner Talwar (Vice-President), HS Khurana (Vice-President), Alok Kishan (Joint Secretary) represented UTCA, CCA-Punjab was represented by Mr Mohinder Singh (CCA Secretary), Mr Harminder Singh Pannu (CCA—-), Mr Naval Bhambri (CCA—-), Dinesh Madhra (CCA). Officials of both the associations discussed future plans for the season and committed to work together for the betterment of the sport. Seeking BCCI affiliation, Mr Sanjay Tondon and Mr Mohinder Singh deliberated the discussions and vowed to make Chandigarh the best cricket state in India with joint efforts.
Speaking about the meeting, Mr Sanjay Tondon said, “Chandigarh is very near in getting landmark judgment in its favour. In order to make Chandigarh the best in cricket infrastructure and talent, we want to work jointly with CCA-Punjab members, who have done a lot in the past for the development of the sport. UTCA has a wider perspective on cricketing activities which will be planned in the coming months. CCA-Punjab members have assured their support to UTCA in the endeavour.”
