Prof Atul Khosla today took over as the Vice Chancellor of Shoolini University following the acceptance of the recommendations of a Search-cum-Selection Committee by the Governing body of the University. Prof Khosla was appointed Acting Vice Chancellor last year following the elevation of the founder Vice Chancellor Prof P K Khosla as Chancellor.

Fifty one year old Prof Atul Khosla is a career researcher, academician, and management consultant, and a global expert in the areas of strategy, policy, innovation, organization design and outsourcing. In his 25 plus years of professional experience, Prof. Khosla has led research, academic and consulting assignments with leading organisations including top academic and research institutions, national regulators and global corporates in Asia, Europe, America and Australia.

After his B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and MBA from JBIMS, University of Mumbai, he worked with a number of leading firms like McKinsey and Oliver Wyman. Prof. Khosla is a regular speaker at several Indian and global Universities and Business Schools including IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Kanpur, ISB and University College London.

Asked to comment on his appointment as Vice Chancellor, he said : “I am honoured to be appointed as Vice Chancellor of India’s leading research university. I am sure with the support of our exceptional faculty and students, Shoolini will reach even greater heights”.

Chancellor Prof P K Khosla said he was confident that the Vice Chancellor would keep the focus on research and would take the university to greater heights.

Founder and Pro Chancellor Mr Vishal Anand, who was presiding over the Governing Body meeting when Prof Khosla’s name was finalised, congratulated him on his appointment and said he was sure that “with his illustrious career of leading international assignments and then more than a decade of excellence in academia, he will be able to build on Shoolini’s mission of becoming a top 200 university into a reality in his term”.

As per rules and procedures, a Search-cum-Selection Committee was constituted comprising of eminent and independent members. The chairman of the Committee was Dr Gurbachan Singh, Former Chairman, ASRB, while its members were Prof Ashwani Kumar Professor, IIM, Lucknow,  Dr R.K.Kohli, Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Mohali and Dr JP Singh Joorel, Director INFLIBNET, Ahmedabad. The committee received 64 applications and recommended four names in order of merit. The Governing body then gave approval to the top recommendation of the committee.
