Renowned singer Dr. Arvind Sharma felicitated by Sanskar Bharti, Panchkula

Sanskar Bharati, an All India organization of art and literature, on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav on the 75th year of independence, felicitated renowned Hindustani classical and semi classical singer Dr. Arvind Sharma. Dr. Sharma is the former head and professor in the Department of Music, Panjab University, Chandigarh and currently the Director of Music Institute, Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Panchkula. The program was organised at Geeta Mandir, Sector 11, Panchkula.

This honor was given to Pandit Dr. Arvind Sharma by Sanskar Bharati, Panchkula for his outstanding performance in the world of classical music. Eminent social worker and businessman Amitabh Kumar Rungta, Managing Director, Meditouch Wellness, was the chief guest on this occasion. Dr Virender Singh Chauhan, Vice Chairman of Haryana Granth Academy, Panchkula; Sanskar Bharti, North Zone Chief Naveen Sharma and Panchkula Distt. President Suresh Goyal, Satish Awasthi, Secretary, Treasurer Anil Goyal, Deputy Secretary Mayank Bindal, Deepak Goyal, Publicity Head, Joginder Agrawal, Head of Arrangement, Poonam Goyal, Meenakshi Jain, Meenu Allawadi and Anupam Agarwal were present. The program was compeered by Sarvpriya Nirmohi, Ex Anchor of All India Radio, Chandigarh.

Pandit Dr. Arvind Sharma has travelled most of the country as a music director maintaining the cultural traditions and purity of music from university side, composing various forms of music apart from traditional music that is also his nature and has achieved university level and  directed several choral groups in other major stages.

He is an executive member of the Indian National Rang Manch Chandigarh and a life member of ABGMV Mandal Mumbai. He is also the recipient of Haryana Kala Vibhuti and Kalakriti Samman by Sanskar Bharti. Pandit Dr Arvind Sharma is a leading teacher mentor and has guided around 60 research students and more than 10 PhD students.

Pandit Dr Arvind Sharma was born in a family of musicians with the prestigious tradition of Gwalior Gharana and an illustrious lineage of Sangeet Maha Rishi Pandit Vishnu Digambar Ji Pushkar. He started performing as a child at the age of 6. Initially, he got training in music from his father Late Pandit Ramesh Chandra Dutt. Later received music training from eminent musicians and scholars of Delhi University, including Padmashree Pandit Vinay Chandra Modgil and Pandit Basant Thakur.

The program ended with recitation of Vande Mantram Gayan. Approximately 150 people attended the program.
