A tricity based Non Governmental Organisation(NGO),  Shree Shyam Karuna Foundation organized the 98th bhandara or ‘community kitchen’ for needy people at  Industrial Area Phase 1, Panchkula here. Speaking on the occasion, Amitabh Rungta said, “If each one of us  donates even a handful of food, no poor person will go to sleep empty stomach. We all should take a firm step to eradicate hunger from society.”
Apart from Amitabh Rungta,  other volunteers who helped in organizing the ‘bhandara’ included Anupama Rungta, Chaitanya Rungta, Pragati Rungta, Deepali Rungta, Sukhpal Singh, Suresh Jangra, Shekhar Jha, Nidhi Sandhu, Sushant, Raju, Seema, Mohan Yadav, Bimesh and Avdesh.  

Rungta  further said that food provides life and feeding the needy  is the highest of noble deeds.
