GGDSD College in collaboration with Department of Social Welfare and Department of Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration (UT) celebrated SAMAJIK NYAY DIWAS on the occasion of Baba Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti. The Chief Guest Mr. Ajit Balaji Joshi (IAS), Deputy Commissioner reflected on the sayings of Baba Ambedkar. He emphasized on the dictum of ‘Education and Success’ as dictated by Baba Ambedkar. He asked the gathering to perceive Baba Ambedkar as a socialist not through religion or cast but by his works and teachings.
Prof. Rajiv Lochan from Panjab University narrated a short biography of Baba Ambedkar that reflected the life skills. Mr. Rakesh Kumar Popli (PCS), Director Higher Education, Ms. Nishu Singal (HCS), Director, Department of Social Welfare, Ms. Radhika Singh (HCS), Director, Rural Development and Panchayats and Mr. Jatinder Bhatia, Finance Secretary, GGDSD College Society were amongst the dignitaries who also highlighted the noble works of Baba Ambedkar.
Principal, GGDSD College, Chandigarh Dr. Bhushan Kumar Sharma emphasized on the need of educating children to build a strong nation. Prime Minister Mr. Narender Modi’s Live Address to the Nation on this occasion was also webcasted during the function. The function was graced by the teaching & non-teaching staff of the college, anganwadi workers, members of the local gram panchayats, social workers, NGOs and students.
