Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh celebrated World Book Day this April 23rd, concluding the month-long library activities organized for the students of classes VI to XII with an aim to promote the joy of books and reading. Holistic development of students has been a continuous endeavour at the school, and this event was yet another step in this direction.

An array of well-thought activities was charted out for these young learners under the theme ‘And Reading Must Go On…’ enabling them to get back to the wonderful world of books, post covid. A series of competitions including ‘Author Based Bulletin Board Designing’, ‘Book Jacket Making’, ‘File Cover Designing’, ‘Pen Stand Making’, and ‘Bookworm Buddies’ were held throughout the month.

To commemorate the International Book Day on 23rd April, the new entrants at the Senior School attended a special session called ‘Bookworm Buddies’. Class VII students were enthralled by a special presentation on ‘How a Book was Born’. While this allowed them to come closer to the enticing world of books, it also allowed students to express themselves creatively. With activities that catered to their social skills and individual creativity, the event brought the best out of students who shone forth with their delightful performances.
