चण्डीगढ़ 18 दिसंबर 2017 पंजाब, हरियाणा, हिमाचल प्रदेश व चण्डीगढ़ क्षेत्र से हजको जाने के इच्छुक हज यात्रियों के लिए इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्टचण्डीगढ़ से हवाई उड़ान शुरू किए जाने की मांग को लेकर मुजादिद्दीएजुकेशनल सोसाइटी के अघ्यक्ष मौलवी मोहम्मद इमरान मुजादिद्दी नेप्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को पत्र लिखा है। सोसाइटी के संयुक्त सचिव व प्रवक्ता नौशाद अली ने उक्त जानकारी देतेहुए बताया कि इस पत्र की प्रति केंद्रीय विदेश मंत्री, केंद्रीय पर्यटन मंत्रीके साथ-साथ स्थानीय सांसद किरण खेर को भी प्रेषित की गई है।उन्होंने कहा कि यदि चण्डीगढ़-जेद्दा (सऊदी अरब) के लिए हवाई मार्गसे जुड़ जातें हैं तो इससे ना केवल क्षेत्र के मुस्लिम समुदाय के लोगों कोसहूलत होगी बल्कि सरकार को भी राजस्व में फायदा होगा। इसके अतिरिक्त यहां से जब हज को जाने वाले यात्री नयी दिल्ली जातेंहैं तो उनके साथ हज़ारों की संख्या में उनके सगे-सम्बन्धी व परिचितउन्हें विदा करने जातें हैं जिससे राजधानी की सडकों पर सुचारूयातायात की समस्या खड़ी हो जाती है। इस समस्या का हल भीचण्डीगढ़-जेद्दा उड़ान ही है इस मुद्दे को लेकर सोसाइटी के पदाधिकारियों ने सांसद किरण खेर सेभी मुलाक़ात की व उन्होंने भी इस पर अपनी सहमति जताते हुएआश्वासन दिया कि वे संसद के इन दिनों चल रहे शीतकालीन सत्र में भीइस मसले को उठाएंगी व इसे लेकर प्रधानमंत्री से भी मिलेंगी।
