Vivek High School students today became the champions of the fourth edition of Satluj Six-A-Side Football Tournament which was played here at the Satluj Public School in Sector 4 here.
The final match was exciting and went on for an hour as both teams could initially not score a goal. Later Vivek High School managed to sail through tie-breaker and the final scores were 2-0 defeating their opponents Satluj Public School. The goals were scored by Tanveer Sekhon and Vasu Arora of Vivek High School.
In the Girls Match played between Team A and Team B of Satluj Public School, the Team A won the match with 2-0. Both goals were scored by Shubhpreet within nine minutes.
Semi-finals were played between four teams, which included Satluj Public School vs Vivek International School, Baddi and Vivek High School, Chandigarh vs Saupins School Panchkula.
In the first Semi-Final match, Vivek High School won the match by 2-0. The first goal was scored by Japan, both in first half. In the second Semi-Final, Satluj Public School won the match by 3-0 in the tie-break.
The two-day tournament, had 13 teams which are participating. The participating schools included Satluj Public School, Panchkula; St John High School, Chandigarh; Vivek High School, Chandigarh; St. Solider, Chandigarh; Vivek International School, Baddi; Shemford Futuristic School, Pinjore; Jainendra School, Panchkula and Hansraj Public School, Panchkula.
