The footballers of Minerva Academy, popularly known as The Factory, will once again strengthen the Indian team. The AFC U-17 Asian Cup-2023 is to be held in Thailand and two footballers from Minerva have been selected in the Indian team. After impressing coach Bibiano Fernandez, Dhanjeet Ashwangbam and Akash Tirkey will take the field to lead the Indian football team to victory.


Ranjit Bajaj, Director of Minerva Academy, congratulated both the players for this achievement. He said that both Dhanjeet and Akash are top level footballers. He has been consistently doing well in the Indian jersey, once again he will strengthen the national team on the big platform. He is in good form and is a big contender for a place in India’s playing-11. He said that the Indian team would leave for Thailand on June 1. Team India’s first match in Group-D will be with Vietnam on June 17, while the team will play Uzbekistan on June 20. On June 23, the Indian team will face Japan.


The Indian U-17 team has practiced for the last 45 days in Spain and Germany ahead of the tournament. He played for the youth teams of clubs such as Atlético de Madrid, CD Leganés, Real Madrid CF, Getafe CF, VfB Stuttgart, SSV Reutlingen, FC Augsburg and TSV Schwaben Augsburg. India won 5 of these matches, while they lost 4 and drew 1 match.
