Sandhu FC and Royal FC registered a spectacular victory in the Chandigarh Youth Football League for KB Malik Memorial Trophy. A total of eight matches of both categories were played on Sunday at Sector-46 Football Ground.
In the first match of the Under-15 category, Sandhu FC Blue defeated Himalayan FC by a huge margin of 13-0. Aniket scored four goals in the 13th, 17th, 31st, 58th minutes, while Sarthak completed a four-goal haul in the 18th, 27th, 39th, 45th minutes. Gurbir scored a hat-trick in the 15th, 44th, 55th minutes, while Happy and Tegbir scored 1-1 goals to seal the victory. In the second match, Royal FC defeated Sandhu FC Red 2-1. Mohit scored for Royal FC in the 8th minute and in the 15th minute they got a breakthrough due to Sandhu FC’s mistake. Shiva scored in the 39th minute, but he could not prevent the team’s defeat.
In the first match of Under-13, Saffron Arrows defeated St. John’s 3-2. Dhruv scored two goals for St. John’s in the 8th and 11th minutes, while Tanush scored in the 17th and 27th minutes for Saffron to equalize the score. Dipanshu scored in the 42nd minute to ensure the victory of Saffron Arrows. In the second match, St. Stephen’s School got a walkover because the team of GMHS RC-1 Dhanas could not reach for the match.
In the third match, Strawberry Fields defeated Liberty FC 4-1. Hriday scored two goals in the 7th and 13th minutes, while one goal was scored by Hiral and one success came from Liberty’s self goal. Saif opened the account for Liberty FC. In the fourth league match, Sandhu FC defeated Royal FC 1-0 thanks to the only goal scored by Qavi in the 45th minute, while the Velocity vs DPS match ended in a 1-1 draw. Chandan and Aarush scored 1-1 goals for their teams. In the last match of the day, Maruti FC defeated Blue Star 3-1. Krish scored a goal for Blue Star in the 11th minute, while Yashpreet scored in the 15th, Sahibdeep in the 32nd and Saksham in the 41st minute for Maruti FC to ensure the team’s victory.
Note: One Under-15 and 6 Under-13 matches will be played on 03-06-2024.
