PGGCG-11, CHANDIGARH AWARDED BEST PRIZE AMONG ENVIRONMENT SOCIETIES ON ENVIRONMENT DAY

Keeping up with the glorious tradition of excellence, Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh added yet another feather to its cap. Prakriti-the Environment Society of the college has been awarded the Best Prize amongst the Environment Societies/Eco clubs being run by colleges of Chandigarh on the occasion of World Environment Day today. The Prize was awarded today by Dr. Dalai, IFS, Director Environment, Chandigarh Administration under the National Green Corps Program. The coveted award was received by Prof. Anita Kaushal, Principal of the college, and Dr. Sangeeta Mehtani, Coordinator of the Society.


Expressing happiness Prof. Anita Kaushal, Principal, who is also the Patron of the Society observed that the institution has always been forthcoming in taking eco-friendly initiatives. “We realise our commitments towards Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR), and our efforts towards swachhta and environmental concerns are widely visible from the recognitions given by eminent agencies”. It is noteworthy that PGGCG-11 was awarded the Green Champion Award by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India last week, and prior to that, initiatives like Windrow Composting have received accolades.


She congratulated the members of Prakriti and ensured that the initiatives of the college in the field of conservation and protection of natural resources will continue.
