In furtherance to the drive initiated by the Panjab University for shifting towards digital campus, the Finance Department of University has successfully activated online Fee Portal for the hostel students. In the current session, 1116 hostel students have deposited the hostel fee through the online portal in the first week of its implementation. The online portal of PU for deposit of tuition fee and charges by the campus students is already running successfully for the last 3-4 years.
In order to facilitate and motivate the students to use online portal for deposit of fee, the Panjab University in association with State Bank of India has allowed the students to open a ‘ZERO balance’ Saving Bank Account. The University is also taking necessary steps in association with State Bank of India to provide an ‘interactive-POS-machines in the hostels and departments as well as Combo Cards which can be used for making any kind of payment through digital mode. The State Bank of India has in-principle agreed to bear the cost of hardware also in providing these ‘interactive-POS-machines.
