The Science Society of MCM DAV College for Women organized Science Fest that witnessed huge participation of colleges from across the tricity. Dr.Ashok Kumar Ganguly, Director, Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology, Mohali was the Chief Guest on the occasion and Prof. J. K. Goswamy, UIET, PU was the Guest of Honour. Inaugurating the fest, Dr. Ganguly congratulated the college for being a progressive institution that nurtures students with the right combination of theoretical and practical knowledge through vibrant platforms like this fest. Organised with the objective of celebrating science in our lives, the event was a unique amalgamation of science and creativity.
The fest was marked with ingenious competitions like Be a Science Buddy, Innovative Idea Factory, Sciencetoon, Funk out of Junk, SciTech-Eco Food Fiesta, Click a Flick, etc. that sought to bring out the creative best of the budding scientists. Participants enthusiastically competed in various events that had themes like Science and Life, Adulteration, Food safety and preservation, Biodiversity, Digital India, Wonders of Science and Technology, Nutrition, Information Technology to tickle their grey cells. The valedictory address was delivered by Prof. Goswamy.
MCM Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava lauded this endeavour of the Science Society that sought to highlight the importance of science in our lives and to promote
scientific temper. Stressing upon the significance of such events, Dr. Bhargava said that such platforms help to take learning beyond classrooms.
