The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today organized a awareness rally to use cycles in the city. The rally led by Sh. Davesh Moudgil, Mayor of Chandigarh & Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Municipal Commissioner accompanied by Dr. Saurabh Mishra, IAS, Additional Commissioner, Sh. Tejdeep Singh Saini, Joint Commissioner, Sh. Manoj Bansal, Chief Engineer, Dr. P.S. Bhatti, Medical Officer of Health and other employees of MCC carried out demonstration through cricket stadium chowk, sector 16 to create awareness regarding use of cycle.
Carrying the placards different slogans i.e. please give way first to the cyclist and ‘I am doing this for me’, you can not be Sad while riding a cycle’ and ‘I want you to join me to save fuel’ etc., the MCC team made a chain around the roundabout.
The Mayor and commissioner said that this type of awareness rallies will be conducted in different parts of city and in various institutions in near future.
