A new sports complex was inaugurated today at sector-34 by Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh Sh. V.P Singh Badnore in order to provide better sports facilities in southern part of the city. It was inaugurated in the august presence of Smt. Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament Chandigarh, Sh. A.K. Sinha, IAS, Finance Secretary , Sh. B.L. Sharma, IAS, Education Secretary and Sh. Mukesh Anand, Special Secretary (Engineering), Capt. Karnail Singh, PCS, Director sports, Chief Architect, Director School Education, Area Councilor and other senior officers of the Chandigarh Administration.
The project details are as Estimated cost Rs. 8 Crore, Plinth area 37000 Sq Ft., Plot area 2.66 Acre. Sports Complex is provided with facilities like 1 Swimming Pool, 1 Gymnasium Hall, 1 Table Tennis Hall and 3 Badminton Courts. It also has Reception and waiting area, coach rooms, etc.
The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh Sh. V.P Singh Badnore appreciated the initiative of building the sports complex.
