ICCC striving to provide better quality of life to the citizens : Anindita Mitra

Chandigarh Smart City Limited (CSCL) organized various visits of school students, college students, public representatives, eminent personalities, to the state-of-art Integrated Command and Control Centre ( ICCC) located in Sector 17, Chandigarh. The visits were planned and organized under the leadership of Ms. Anindita Mitra IAS, Chief Executive Officer, Chandigarh Smart City Limited. Representatives of Green Dream Foundation visited to get an insight about the idea behind ICCC, the Brain of City. Green Dream Foundation is an NGO focused on generating mass awareness & action on key environmental themes including Waste Management, Air Pollution, Water Security and Climate Change through effective & innovative channels. They engage with communities at ground zero through door-to-door dialogues, workshops, capacity building and various innovative activities to sensitize people, drive action on ground and then measure results. 


A live demonstration on functioning of ICCC enabled citizen centric services like Management of Traffic, Public Bike Sharing, Intelligent Traffic management System, Solid Waste Management, E-Governance, Sewerage, Electricity and Smart Lighting on the video wall in ICCC by ICT Expert. 


Integrated command and control center (ICCC) striving to provide efficient service deliveries, a safe and secure environment and better quality of life to the citizens. It acts as a “nerve centre” for operations management. It processes a complex and large pool of data sets at an aggregated level. ICCC is designed to enable city administrators to monitor the status of various amenities, any kind of disaster by providing them the real time incident details and help in rapid resolution of the situation”, Ms. Anindita Mitra said.


ICCC is monitoring the smart field elements like CCTV Surveillance Cameras wherein more than 1000 cameras are installed for real time surveillance of Traffic Junctions and other important buildings of Chandigarh like water works, parks, government hospitals, community centers, parking locations, schools, on around 285 locations. This system is using Artificial Intelligence based advanced video analytics and generating automatic event alerts. CCTV surveillance cameras have reduced the incidents like vehicle theft, irresponsible driving, Loitering, illegal parking Trespassing.”, she added.


The participants were made aware about the state-of-the-art call centre, 24×7 help desk, which has also been established in ICCC building for addressing citizen grievances at a faster pace.
