Hartek Power, one of India’s fastest growing Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies with expertise in executing high-voltage turnkey substations and power infrastructure projects, has bagged a prestigious order from the Public Health Department of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation for executing a 66/11 KV substation at the Sector 39 Waterworks which will help in improving the overall water supply to the Tricity.

To be commissioned at a cost of Rs 11.24 crore, this project will involve designing, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the new switchyard, which will enable the Municipal Corporation to meet the city’s peak water demand of 100 million gallons per day (MGD) by pumping an additional 29 MGD to be drawn from Kajauli Waterworks V and VI. Chandigarh’s water supply currently stands at 80 MGD.

Hailing the order as an acknowledgement of Hartek Power’s expertise in executing high-voltage substations, Hartek Group Director (Strategy) Simarpreet Singh said, “This prestigious order underlines Hartek Power’s focus on building a robust grid infrastructure. Electricity being a prerequisite to efficient water supply, our substation at the Sector 39 Waterworks will enable the Municipal Corporation to enhance its water supply by at least 25 per cent.”

Hartek Power has created immense value in the T&D value chain, as reflected in its execution of more than 150 high-voltage and extra high-voltage substations and transmission lines in the past one decade. “We specialise in fast-track execution of projects while ensuring quality at the same time. Acknowledging our professional acumen, various state electricity boards and government agencies have entrusted us with prestigious substation projects,” said Simarpreet Singh.

Hartek Power had bagged a prestigious smart grid order from the Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd last year for the supply, installation and commissioning of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) relays at 55 substations in the upcoming Smart Cities of Ludhiana, Amritsar and Jalandhar. This order came as stepping stone to establishing Hartek Power’s leadership in smart grid power solutions.
