DIVYA AZAD

Diwali is on the way and your favorite stars are sharing their Diwali memories and excitement with us. Let’s see what Sony Sab artists have to say:

Priyamvada Kant as Sharada in Sony SAB’s Tenali Rama-

Diwali is my favorite festival. On this day my excitement level is the same as on my birthday. I wear new clothes throughout the day, plan and decorate my whole house. There are just too many reasons for it to be my favorite festival. My fondest memory of Kali Puja is at my nani’s house in Kolkata! All my cousins would get together, wear new clothes and help nani set up the house for pooja. There would be a massive dinner after that, which had all the possible delicacies. It’s an everlasting memory and I always cherish that! I have always been working on Diwali, so I hope this year also I’m shooting on Diwali. I will love to have my parents here in Bombay for Diwali this year. We all celebrate Diwali with new clothes, gifts, sweets and crackers. I request you all to try light up someone else’s life too and bring some happiness to a stranger or a long lost friend or a family member.

Diwali has always been my most favorite festival. The significance it has for me is that during this time, I always feel like myself and there is a sudden shift of energies around me where I feel a renewed sense of hope & joy .Oh! And let’s not forget all the delicious food & sweets you get to eat & share with your family & friends. My favorite memory of Diwali is in my hometown DEHRADUN, where my  mum use to give me the responsibility of decorating the house . I remember my day would start early in those winter mornings plucking marigold flowers from my garden. I would make flower decorations and in the evening I would make a Rangoli of Laxmi’s Feet all over my house using rice paste and colors. I would light up the whole house with diyas & lights. The change I wanted to see for so many years has finally come .I am happy that our government has banned those harmful crackers this Diwali in Delhi. At least we’re starting somewhere. Me and my brother gave up crackers when I was in 6th grade when we realized the amount of harmful effects it causes.

Practice kindness & empathy towards others and yourself. Lift the people around you , let them feel your light. Inspire , influence the world for good because you’ve the power to change.

Krishna Bharadwaj as Tenali Rama in Sony SAB’s Tenali Rama-

This year my Diwali will be special. Mostly because I will be celebrating it on my sets of Tenali Rama. We will gorge on some yummy food along with spending time together and chit chatting.  Since I am away from my home, I will miss my family naturally. But I think my co-stars and crew will make sure that I don’t miss my folks particularly when it’s festive time of the year. And obviously, I will decorate my whole house with diyas and flowers.

Hussain Kuwajerwala as Jay from Sony SAB’s Sajjan Re Phir Jhooth Mat Bolo-

Best memory about Diwali is when we used to enjoy lighting up the fire crackers and do the chopda Poojan. I don’t really believe in making resolutions during the festivals. I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Diwali. And request everyone to try playing a more environment friendly Diwali.
