After the success of the previous editions of Coalesce & Visitavity, St John’s High School, Sector-26 Chandigarh organized yet another edition of the 4-day long event of Coalesce.
Mr. BL Sharma, Education Secretary, UT Administration, Chandigarh graced the event with his presence, as the chief guest for the inauguration on Day 1. There was an overwhelming response from the schools all over the tri-city with as many as 54 teams participating in each event.
On Day 1 and 2, there were competitions for the Science and commerce stream; while Day 3 and 4 were dedicated to ‘Visitavity .where 4 new competitions were introduced this time –Panel Discussion, Moot court, PowerPoint Presentation and Culinary Thoughts, a cooking competition; these competitions were based on subjects such as legal studies, psychology and computer science.
Mr. Gurmeet Singh Sahni and Mr. Bharat BhushanKakkar, , were the quiz masters for the Business Quiz as well as the Science Quiz held on Day 1 and 2 respectively. The preliminary rounds of both quizzes were held through a new and unique app – ‘Kahoot!’ which made the event much more interactive and interesting.
Each day also featured enthralling performances by the school choir and the band – ‘The Soaring Eagles’. Keeping the energy levels high, the budding dancers of the school presented a Bhangra and a Fusion Dance, which enthralled the audience.Another highlight of the event was an advertisement in the form of a short skit, performed by the Johnians, which added an element of humor to the events and truly entertained everyone.
Yet another inspiring highlight of Coalesce – Visitavity was the school’s initiative towards a green and healthy environment, by presenting each of the winners with a saplings.
The Principal of St. John’s, Mrs. Kavita Das, addressed the audience, expressing how students develop their knowledge of various topics through Coalesce&Visitavity, and how such competitions provide a platform for bringing out the best in them. She applauded the efforts of the students and teachers who put together such a well-organized event on such a large scale which gave students an opportunity to mingle and interact for an enhanced learning experience.
