Chandigarh District Council of Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers Union (PCCTU) has endorsed and backed the agitation plan decided by PFUCTO for implementation of the revised UGC Pay Scales. In a Joint Statement made by Chandigarh District Council President Dr Himanshu and Secretary Dr Madhu Sharma, an appeal was made to the local units of seven non-government colleges of Chandigarh to hold unit meetings at the earliest to mobilize participation in agitation programmes of Punjab Federation of University and College Teachers Organization (PFUCTO).
PFUCTO has announced its first regional rally at Chandigarh on 18 January 2019.
