A convocation ceremony holds a special place in the academic life of the students. Today it was a memorable day for the students of DAV College as its annual convocation was held and more than 1200 degrees were awarded. The chief guest for the occasion was Shri. Acharya Devvrat ji, Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh.  He visited the Lal Chand Research library in the college and inaugurated the RUSA sponsored RFID system. Sh. K.S. Arya, Retired Principal, DAV College, Chandigarh and Sh. H. R. Gandhar, Advisor to the President, DAV College, Managing Committee, New Delhi were the Guests of Honour. Principal Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma appreciated the beaming faces of the students and applauded the efforts of the teachers and the parents in helping them achieve their dreams. He asked them to enrich the society by their good deeds. He appraised the audience with the achievements of the college students in academics, sports and cultural events. Shri. Acharya Devvrat ji gave a very inspirational convocation address. He told the students the importance of convocation. He emphasised that education, health and morality all make a complete individual. He also advised them to inculcate good virtues and live a life that is relevant to the society and to the nation. He insisted that the students always stay connected with their subject of graduation and use its knowledge for the good of the society.

The degrees were awarded to the undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma students of various streams.  It was a mix reaction of joy, elation and proud amongst the students.
Swati Sharma, Department of Bioinformatics was ecstatic and said this was her dream come true. She said DAV College and her teachers will always have a place in her heart for the years to come. Himanshu Singla, Department of Commerce felt overwhelmed remembering his journey in the college. He said the college taught him good ethics and morals which are helping him be a good human being. .Amandeep kaur, Department of Public Administration said her degree was a tribute to her parents and teachers hardwork. Arushi and Anshul who got their degrees in BA emphasised the role of teachers in shaping the lives of the students.
