Arjun Kumar, a student of SXILL (School of Experience Illusion and Life Learnings), Chandigarh has been named the “Best Animator” at the prestigious WAVES 2025 Awards, held under the aegis of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in collaboration with ASIFA India.
Arjun’s achievement brings national recognition not just to him, but also to SXILL’s innovative training model. “We are extremely proud of Arjun. His success is a testament to our decade-long focus on quality character animation training,” said Vineet Raj Kapoor, Founder of SXILL. “This milestone has reinforced SXILL’s position as a prime talent source for India’s animation industry.”
Neelu Kapoor, Co-Founder of SXILL, highlighted Arjun’s journey, “He worked tirelessly while juggling part-time jobs. Our mentorship program ensured he received the right guidance. We’re thankful to our industry partners like Lakshya Digital and Technicolor for supporting our vision.”
Reflecting on his journey, Arjun shared, “The personal mentoring at SXILL made all the difference. I’m honored to receive this award, but it’s also a win for all my peers who supported me. Special thanks to my mentor Mangat Chauhan and to Neelu ma’am for helping me stay financially afloat during my training.”
SXILL’s alumni now work at top studios such as DreamWorks, Framestore, Technicolor, and Cosmos Maya. This win reinforces India’s emerging talent in Animation, VFX, and Digital Media as part of the “Create in India” initiative.
