Punjab Food Supply and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu has thanked the dealers and distributors for providing domestic gas to each household in Punjab during the lockdown. Govt is also venturing  the supply of other essential items at each door steps across the state in coming times.

Ashu was briefing the high level delegation of Federation of LPG Distributors of Punjab and distributors from different cities of Punjab under the leadership of President Gurpal Singh Mann at his office in Sector-39 on Monday.  Federation handed over a fund of Rs 16 lakhs to PM and CM Corona Relief Fund through Minister BB Ashu.

Gurpal Singh Mann said, ‘During the lockdown, the federation has worked to deliver domestic gas to the consumers in their respective areas, while food has been arranged for the needy people and migrant laborers. Apart from this, medicines for increasing immunity have also been provided free of cost to about 15,000 employees and their families working in the Red, Orange and Green Zones of Punjab.

Expressing gratitude for giving funds to the Corona Relief Fund, Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that in future also the people of Punjab will not be allowed to face any kind of problem. Speaking on the occasion, Sujoy Chaudhury, ED, IOCL said that during the lockdown, an effort has been made to meet the demand of consumers in just one day.

Other who present on the occasion includes  Food Supply Department Director Anandita Mitra (IAS), Director, F&D Department, Alok Kumar, CGM, IOCL,  Mahinder Kumar, DGM, IOCL, Chandigarh, Federation’s Vice President Anuj Sikka, General Secretary Raghav Jolly and Treasurer Raj Singh and others members including Harminder Singh, Bhavnit Singh.
