Sri Lanka youth delegation visited Chandigarh

Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Regional Centre, Chandigarh under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and Department of Sport, UT Administration Chandigarh hosted 27-member Sri Lanka Youth Delegation to provide opportunities for mutually understand each other better. Before coming to Chandigarh, the delegation comprising of students, youth leaders and young achievers visited various popular monuments of India.
As part of their Chandigarh visit, The Hon’ble Governor of Haryana Sri Satya Deo Narain Arya interacted with Sri Lankan youth delegation at the Raj Bhawan. During their stay in Chandigarh, youth delegation visited the Panjab University, Chandigarh as a part of interaction with Professor Raj Kumar Vice Chancellor Panjab University Chandigarh. On Last day of their stay in Chandigarh, RGNIYD hosted a cultural event where young artist of both countries gave astounding performances. Dr. kottu Shekhar, Coordinator, RGNIYD RC, Chandigarh and Mr. Tezdeep Singh Saini, PCS, Director Sports, UT Administration, Chandigarh interacted with youth delegation. Mr. Mohinder Singh, Joint Director Sports, UT Administration, Chandigarh and Mr. Rajiv Tuli, Director Youth Affairs were also present on the occasion. Officers of the RGNIYD Mr. Avinav Thakur and Yogesh Sharma hosted the stage. Gurjot Singh Mahi, Faculty RGNIYD delivered the vote of thanks. The Sri Lankan youth also interacted with the students of RGNIYD Chandigarh. Bhangra performance by various groups keeps the delegation awestruck. Sri Lankan Youth expressed their gratitude towards the people of city beautiful Chandigarh and hoped to visit the city again.
