In a major boost to the region, the Roots Tennis Academy, Zirakpur l, will be organising the ITF Seniors World Ranking Tennis Championship, under the aegis of Mohali Lawn Tennis Association (MLTA), from October 18 to 22.The championship will be conducted at Roots Tennis Academy, adjoining Maya Garden (l), Phase 1 & 2 Vip Road zirakpur.
Meanwhile, the events will be conducted in men’s / women’s singles and doubles 35+ years,45+ years,55+ years and 65+ years categories. More than 80 players from different parts of India will participate in the championship.
Manmohan Kohli, President, MLTA, along with Maj Gen HJ Singh, Vice President and Gaurav Chadha, Executive Secretary, will announce open the championship on October 18. “This championship will be a great exposure and experience for our senior category champions. The tournament will be conducted while following all Covid related protocols issued by the Government of Punjab. Many top seeds players are also schedule to take part in this championship, ” said Manmohan. He further said that registered players, from the Tricity, can register themselves through a direct sign- in on October 17 from 2pm to 5pm at the tournament venue.
