On the occasion of Asthma Week to commemorate World Asthma Day, Fortis Hospital Mohali organized an interactive session on ‘Preventive Measures of Asthma’ & a general medical check-up camp at Manav Rachna International School, Mohali, here today.
An interactive session for the students of Manav Rachna International School, Mohali on ‘Preventive Measures of Asthma’ was organized to mark World Asthma Day. 277 students of the school were examined on the occasion.
Dr Swati Gupta, Consultant- Paediatrics & Allergy Specialist, was the speaker for this session. She educated the students about asthma, importance of early diagnosis and the right treatment to control the condition. A packed audience of more than 200 students attended this session.
She spoke in detail about asthma triggering allergens. Asthma can be managed by avoiding asthma triggers, by taking medication, through education from healthcare team and by following an asthma action plan. This was quite an interesting and interactive session as many students came up with lots of queries.
The session was followed by a general health examination by Dr Swati Gupta and dental examination by Dr Sandeep Dev, Consultant- Dental Sciences. The other members of Fortis Team present were Jaswant, Neetu and Charanjeet Singh of Dental Sciences.
