IDP Education, a global leader in international education services, today announced the opening of four computer-delivered IELTS test centres in Punjab in a press conference held at JW Marriott. With the opening of these test centres, students from Punjab will be able to receive their International English Language Testing System (IELTS) results in 5 to 7 days which earlier used to take close to a fortnight.

On the occasion, Mr. Piyush Kumar, Regional Director, South Asia – IDP Education said; “Punjab is an important region for us and we wanted to create more opportunities for students. With the opening of these centres, we are aiming to provide test takers from Punjab a launch pad for professional success by helping them to achieve their international education and career goals.”

IDP first launched computer-delivered IELTS in Australia and has since introduced it around the world. This new option is now available in more than 12 Indian cities.

The launch of these 4 new test centres in Punjab will provide students with greater flexibility of when to take their IELTS test, with tests running three times a day from Monday to Saturday.

Computer-delivered IELTS also enables students to edit and highlight their answers, make notes for important questions, and complete their answers on a computer instead of manually writing the test. This option has become popular with students who are more comfortable typing instead of handwriting.

The students can also try their hands on the practice tests available on IDP IELTS India website to understand and experience IELTS on computer before their test date.

Mr. Vishal Gupta, Director IELTS Operations, South Asia, Indonesia and Malaysia said; “IELTS scores are accepted by over 10,000 universities and employers in many countries, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, the United Kingdom and the United States. It is the only test that is available in two formats – paper-based and computer-delivered. We introduced this new option as we want to empower test takers to choose how and when they take their world-leading test.”

“In fact, now a student can easily switch from paper-based format to computer-delivered IELTS at no extra cost at all”.

All computer-delivered IELTS test centres by IDP are state-of-the-art facilities customised to cater to the needs of a test taker.

In addition to Chandigarh now, IDP will have its new computer-delivered IELTS centres in below mentioned cities:
