The New Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation department at Fortis hospital, Mohali was inaugurated today by Chief Guest Mr. Vishal Malhotra, who had been availing services of the department, along with Mr. Ashish Bhatia (COO rest of India) and Mr. Abhijit Singh, Zonal Director, Fortis Hospital Mohali with his Team.

The state of art new Physiotherapy department at Fortis Hospital, Mohali aims to deliver specialized services and rehabilitation programs for patients of all age groups with acute and chronic ailments. The department will also be offering post-COVID rehab services.

The highly experienced team of Physiotherapists caters services to patients with neurological impairments, musculoskeletal disorders, sports injuries, pediatrics, obstetrics, and gynecological disorders, cardiopulmonary disorders requiring physical therapy rehabilitation, etc.

This experienced team is led by Dr. GK Balaji, who has various international certifications attached to his name. To name a few, they are visceral manipulation, aquatic therapy, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, neurodevelopmental therapy, brain gym, craniosacral therapy.

The department is well-equipped to treat patients with sensory processing disorders, cerebral palsy, Autism, congenital disorders. Comprehensive cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation program offered by the Physiotherapy department enables the post-cardiac surgery patients and patients with COPD towards faster recovery and back to their normal day to day activities.

Department is also equipped with advanced equipment such as a 3D Motion analyzer which evaluates and describes the body movements in 3-dimensional space, EMG biofeedback which helps to retrain the muscles and has a wide range of application in various conditions, force plates which assist in balance training and cardiopulmonary fitness testing using VO2 max analyzer and cognitive training through Virtual Reality Games.
