Dev Samaj Mahotsav concludes, Blood donation camp held as part of celebrations

The 4-day Dev Samaj Mahotsav has concluded  at Dev Samaj Head Office, Sector 36-B here. The Mahotsav was held to commemorate the 172nd birth anniversary of Bhagwan Dev Atma, the founder of Dev Samaj. The highlight of the Mahotsav was a mega blood donation camp   organised in collaboration with PGIMER Chandigarh and Sukh Foundation. 100 units of blood were donated by volunteers from Dev Samaj institutions and members of the general public.  Shriman Nirmal Singh Dhillon, Secretary, Dev Samaj, and Chairman Dev Samaj College of Education inaugurated the blood donation camp. Congratulating the efforts of the donors, who came forward voluntarily for the noble cause, he said, “Donating blood is a humanitarian and a philanthropic act, thus the camp is an annual feature of Dev Samaj held to coincide with the birth anniversary of the esteemed founder. I believe that truth, beauty, and goodness should be the guiding force of our life.”

Meanwhile,  a speech was delivered by Dr. Agnese Dhillon,Principal, Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36-B, on ‘Atulya Tyagi Bhagwan Dev Atma’. She apprised the gathering about the struggles faced by Bhagwan Dev Atma during his time to empower the girl child and uplift the society. A discourse on ‘Taranhare Bhagwan Dev Atma’ was given by Dr. Shriman Manoj Madan.
 Remembering the divine soul and his teachings, Shriman Nirmal Singh Dhillon delivered a profound discourse on ‘Dev Jeewandhari Bhagwan Dev Atma’. The enlightening lecture emphasized his teachings and the necessity of imbibing a scientific temper to understand and connect with the philosophy of the revered soul. Another  sabha was initiated by Shriman Ram Vilas Pandey. The focus of his discourse was on the importance of the relationship we have with our body and soul.  The Dev Samaj Mahotsav consisted of a range of activities including daily discourses on social ethics and moral culture, daily Bhajan Gayan and sangeet sandhya, quiz competition and plays by students. On the first day, a Pravesh Sabha was addressed by Shriman Jagdish Chandra Bhardwaj. He preached that our emotions guide our life and thus we must embrace compassion to lead a joyful life.
