In wake of giving due respect and dignity to martyrs of Saragarhi, US based Saragarahi Foundation is now all set for taking charge. So far efforts to bring Saragarhi globally Cine star Akshay Kumar has made a movie and a book wrote by Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh on theme, but State Govt has failed to keep his two years old promise which boast the memories of martyrs. Saragarhi Foundation has decided to take up the task to remind the Chief Minister to cherish the memories of stalwarts of Saragarhi.

US based author, researcher and philanthropist, also the Chairman of Saragarhi Foundation Gurinderpal Singh Joshan while addressing a press conference said martyrs of Saragarhi deserve a real tribute from their fellow nation which is only possible by Govt’s intervention. Joshan has been playing a key role in the construction of Gurudwara Sahib located in the barrens of North West Frontier Pakistan.

‘Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh met the delegation of foundation on December 9, 2017 during first ever Military Literature Festival held in Chandigarh where he expressed his solidarity towards the Saragarhi and its martyrs. Foundation demanded a devoted chapter on Saragarhi and its martyrs in the books of Punjab School Education Board and the announcement of Saragarhi Day to mark the battle day with a Govt holiday. Apart from these demands, Foundation also requested the installation of Saragarhi’s martyrs in war memorial at Sector 3, Chandigarh. Chief Minister accepted the demands and their accomplishment but regretfully CM fails to meet the words even after two years’ said Joshan.

Representatives of foundation will be meeting soon express their pending demands.
