NSS unit of DAV College Chandigarh in collaboration with PGIMER Chandigarh organised a “Mega Blood Donation Camp” on 26th August, 2019 in the college premises. The event was sponsored by Lions Club Chandigarh Harmony, Chandigarh. Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Principal DAVC said that he felt extremely proud of the NSS unit of the college who unfailingly put up a flawless execution of a well-managed blood donation camp, year after year. He further added that the NSS unit is very dedicated towards accomplishment of their Motto “NOT ME BUT YOU” and is always passionate about serving the humanity. The guest of honour of the event was Ms. Madhubala, Regional Director, NSS. She motivated the donors and said that the Blood Donation camp was very well organised. Mr Rajeev Jain, President, Lions Club Chandigarh Harmony, Mr. Rajeev Single, Secretary, Lion Bajinder Bansal, Charter president, Lion Ashok jindal, Lion vaneet oswal, Lion S. P.Jain and Dr.Rita Jain, HOD Mathematics, DAV college, Sector-10 Chandigarh graced the event with their presence.The program officers of NSS DAVC Prof. Rakesh Rani , Dr. Suman Kapur and Prof. Sandeep Singh said that they were astounded by the enthusiasm of the volunteers. Total 167 units of blood were collected. All the donors were given refreshments and were well awarded. The volunteers who had donated blood for more than five times consecutively were awarded with Momentos and certificates. The whole event was a great success and inspired others to serve the humanity.
