An Interactive Session on “Future Forward: Decoding Employability Skills” at PGGC Sector- 46 Chandigarh

The Department of Economics of Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46, Chandigarh organized an interactive session on the topic “Future Forward-Decoding Employability Skills”. The session was conducted by Certified Soft Skills Trainers and Image Consultants, Dr. Poonam Sran and Ms. Raahat from women’s  Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI).  Dr. Abha Sudarshan, Principal welcomed the keynote speakers.  The session began with an icebreaker activity after which the participants were explained the relevance and significance of employability skills. The key employability skills of the century were explained in the session, communication skills being the most prominent and life long learning skills, paving the way for continued success in life. Participants enjoyed the activity on how to overcome the weaknesses and be persistent with the strengths. Further, the participants were given insights on how their first resume could be made structured and impressive. The programme was   organized by Ms. Vandna, HOD, Economics along with Dr Manisha Gaur.

Earlier in the day the Department of Defense and Strategic Studies in collaboration with RUSA organized a special lecture on Naxalism: A Threat to India’s Security. Mr. Vishal Verma, Deputy Commandant, CRPF, Centre Information Technology (CIT), Bengaluru (Karnataka) was the speaker on the occasion. Mr. Verma deliberated on various issues related to the topic and gave first hand information on the theme. Dr. Abha Sudarshan, principal also apprised the students about this issue and encouraged the students to attend more such informative lectures and update their knowledge.  Dr. Abha Sudarshan Principal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Dean, Dr. Baljit Singh, Dr. Rajinder Singh Kaura and Mrs. Arvinder Kaur RUSA Incharge of the college graced the occasion. Dr. Kulvinder singh (Convener) proposed the vote of thanks.
