280 newly enrolled advocates take oath

Today, at a function organized in the Diwan Atma Ram Auditorium of Law Bhawan, at Chandigarh, Mr. Dushyant Chautala, Deputy Chief Minister for the State of Haryana, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and distributed more than 280 Enrolment certificates after administrating oath to the newly enrolled advocates. The Chief Guest stressed upon the necessity to practice at the sub-division and district level, also elaborating upon the importance of digitization and availability of access to wide legal research. The Chief Guest kindly acknowledged the request of the Bar Council with regard to establishing an ancillary sub-facility of the Council in the State of Haryana and expressed willingness to pursue the same with concerned quarters. The Chief Guest also agreed to pursue the request of the Council with regard to implementing certain welfare schemes/ policies for Advocates in the State along with budgetary allocations for distinct and sub-divisional Bar Associations in Haryana, as and when made.

Suvir Sidhu, Chairman Bar Council Punjab & Haryana while welcoming Hon’ble Mr. Dushyant Chautala, Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana State as Chief Guest, advised the new entrants to maintain dignity of the noble legal profession. Sh.Partap Singh Member BCI, Sh. Ashok Singla, Vice- Chairman, Sh. Gurtej Singh Grewal, Hony Secretary, Mr. S.D. Sharma Co-Chairman, Sh.Raj Kumar Chauhan Co-Chairman, Sh. Ranvir Singh Dhaka Co-Chairman, Sh. Lekh Raj Sharma Former Chairman, and other Members of Bar Council also graced amongst the presence of other Advocates as well as parents and guardians of the newly enrolled advocates hailing from different places of Punjab, Haryana and U.T. Chandigarh.  It is also pertinent to mention here that the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana was established under the Advocates Act 1961 and from its inception Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana has on its roll about One Lac Thirty thousand advocates.
